Pontiac Grand Prix 97-03 Tail Lights Install

stock tail lights
Installing Grand Prix tail lights is one of the most cost effective and easy improvements you can make to your car's exterior. Follow our detailed install instructions below and your Grand Prix will be lighting up the night sky in no time!

<- Here is the Pontiac Grand Prix with original stock tail lights.

cargo net and carpet liner 1. The first step is to remove the cargo net and carpet liner in the trunk. This allows for access to the tail light bolts.

wing nut access 2. With the carpet liner pulled back, you have easy access to the 3 wing nuts which hold the tail light in place. Keeping one hand on the tail light (on the outside of the trunk) remove the wing nuts. When all 3 nuts have been removed simply slide the tail light assembly out. Don't lose the wing nuts!

tail light assembly 3. Here the tail light assembly is out, allowing access to the 3 bulb connectors. To remove each of the bulb connectors, squeeze the plastic lock as you gently twist the connector counter-clockwise.

black and white 4. Here are the 2 tail light assemblies side-by-side without the bulbs connected. The black is the stock "bad guy" and the white is the coolight "good guy". Each of the bulb sockets fit well in the coolight and the attachment bolts line up perfectly.

bulb sockets 5. Here are the 3 bulb sockets, ready to install. Be aware that there are 2 that are the same size. The brake light has 3 wires, while the backup light has 2.

ready to install 6. Here the 3 bulbs are connected to the coolight tail light. The unit is now ready to install.

line up the bolts 7. Line the 3 bolts on the tail light up with the 3 bolt holes on the car and fasten the 3 wing nuts being careful not to over tighten.

left side finished 8. Here is the finished product on the left side of the car. Our Grand Prix bermuda black tail lights make a huge difference.

stock vs aftermarket 9. Time for a comparison! Coolight on the left.... plain stock tail light on the right.

10. This job is done. Our Grand Prix lights install easy, are a good fit and finish... and look great!

Those are some cool lights!
